“We usually do a coffee hour in the morning which is great for our retired constituents,” explained Perillo. “We’re doing this at night with the hope of getting some feedback from others.”

During the morning sessions a lot of residents have raised concerns about the governor’s cut in funding to Shelton and the impact it will have on their property taxes.

“He’s also proposed that you can’t claim a credit for property taxes on your state income tax,” Perillo said. “A lot of people are upset with this as well as all the other fee increases he’s proposing...There’s no way that budget is being approved.”
